Give Through Your Donor Advised Fund

A donor advised fund (DAF) is one of the simplest, most tax-smart ways to support survivors of domestic abuse. If you have a fund with Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, the Arizona Community Foundation, or another sponsoring organization, you can recommend a grant to Chrysalis in just a few minutes — and your gift goes to work immediately, providing shelter, healing, and hope to the more than 1,600 survivors we serve each year.

Donor advised fund FAQ

Can my DAF gift count toward the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit?

No. Because you already received a tax deduction when you contributed to your donor advised fund, DAF grants are not eligible for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit (QCO code 20076). If you would like to take advantage of the dollar-for-dollar state tax credit, consider making a separate personal gift on our Donate Now page.

Can I use my DAF to purchase gala tickets or sponsorships?

IRS rules prohibit DAF grants from paying for anything where the donor receives a benefit — including event tickets, tables, auction items, and memberships with perks. However, DAF grants can support our programs directly, including underwriting opportunities. Contact us at and we will help you find the right fit.

Can my DAF fulfill a personal pledge?

DAF grants generally cannot be used to satisfy a legally binding personal pledge. If you have made a commitment to Chrysalis and would like to fulfill it through your fund, reach out to us — we can structure it appropriately.

Is Chrysalis eligible to receive DAF grants?

Yes. Chrysalis is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in good standing (EIN 86-0447620) and is eligible to receive grants from all major DAF sponsors.
